QUOTE OF THE DAY
Head Coach Chan Gailey
On the defense getting 9.0 sacks while missing key players:
I think guys got a taste of playing well and gained confidence as the game went on. When you’re able to play well early and you gain confidence all of a sudden it feeds on itself. I think they just continued to gain confidence and they started working technique, getting after the passer and playing great on the back end. It takes all of it. You don’t get sacks if they’re not covering. They got to cover. We’ve pressured the quarterback this year but we weren’t getting sacks but it created interceptions. Well this week he (John Beck) was holding it not wanting to throw interceptions and we got sacks. It probably was going to happen. I just didn’t think it would happen nine worth in this ball game.

LB Chris Kelsay tallied one of Buffalo’s 9.0 sacks on Sunday, that put him in sole possession of 10th place on the Bills all-time list with 26.5.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
LB Shawne Merriman
On getting pressure on the quarterback instead of sacks:
Our defensive backs are playing great so whenever we get a chance to pressure a quarterback up front and make them do some things they don’t want to do or get off the spot and throw on the run we’ve been doing a great job of getting that ball turned over when it’s in the air. That’s a big credit to our defensive backs.

G-men ‘W’s vs. struggling teams
The Bills have four victories in five games and the record of the opponents they’ve beaten is a pedestrian 10-10, but when compared to the record of the opponents in the Giants’ three victories it looks pretty good.
Their three wins this year are against teams with a combined record of 2-12. (St. Louis 0-4, Philadelphia 1-4 and Arizona 1-4).
We’ll see if that proves the Bills are more battle tested come Sunday.
