DAILY REPORT
Countdown to Bills new Uniform Unveiling – 17 days
– Today and for the remainder of the week the Bills Healthy Zone will host High School Player Development from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The H.S.P.D. camp is held for incoming high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors and focuses on character development and specific football skill training by position. The event will feature guest speakers from local colleges and universities and Bills’ assistant head coach/inside linebackers coach Dave Wannstedt will address the group on Wednesday.
– The Buffalo Bills announced yesterday that they have partnered with BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York to re-name the Bills Fieldhouse, “The Bills Healthy Zone.” In addition to new signage on the side of the building, the Bills administrative offices will also have main entry signage reflecting “The Healthy Zone” verbiage. The Bills charging buffalo logo and the BlueCross BlueShield logo will accompany the wording on the signs. The Buffalo Bills and BlueCross BlueShield have been partners since 1998 and share a major focus toward the promotion of health and fitness initiatives. “The Bills Healthy Zone” is a perfect way to capture the essence of, and support, this strategic alignment.
– The NFL announced yesterday that former Bills John Fina and Dustin Fox are among the 16 former players who will be taking part in this year’s NFL Broadcast Boot Camp from June 20-23. The program is directed by the NFL Player Engagement and NFL Broadcasting departments and covers a wide range of topics with instructors from each of the NFL’s broadcast partners – CBS, ESPN, FOX, NBC, NFL Network, SiriusXM Radio, Westwood One Radio, plus local radio and TV. It will include hands-on work in areas such as tape study, editing, show preparation, radio production, control room operation, studio preparation, production meetings, field reporting and game preparation. Each player will tape segments as a studio and game analyst and take part in a networking session with television executives. Each player also will serve as a live radio host on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

The Bills weren’t the only coaching staff at the Senior Bowl that wound up picking players that were performing down there through the course of the practice week and game in Mobile in late January. The other coaching staff did as well.
With a total of nine picks, Buffalo took three players in last weekend’s draft that they spent a week with at the Senior Bowl including two on their South Team roster. The Cincinnati Bengals took two players from the Senior Bowl with the eight picks they had last weekend, one of which was a quarterback in Andy Dalton in round 2. They also took OL Clint Boling in round four out of Georgia.
Both of those players were on Chan Gailey’s South Team. The exposure on the practice field and in the meeting rooms going over tape and scheme is where the coaching staffs really felt they got a handle on how the players would operate as professionals, something that’s hard to get in an interview setting. Pairing that up with what you can get off of game tape in terms of playing ability paints a pretty complete picture.
