McNabb prefers Arizona

According to Yahoo Sports, Donovan McNabb, if moved to another team, would like to play for Arizona.

It’s been well publicized that McNabb has an offseason home in Arizona and Yahoo Sports even reports that the Cardinals inquired about a deal for McNabb with the Eagles before signing Derek Anderson to compete with Matt Leinart for the starting job.

The report speculates that if McNabb is not moved this season that the veteran QB could very well wind up in Arizona in 2011. Of course at that point he’d be a free agent if he does not sign an extension with Philadelphia. Only a trade to another team this offseason could get in the way of that prospect because the team that acquires him via trade this offseason could franchise him for 2011 if he refuses to sign an extension thereby keeping him on their roster.

There have been additional reports that McNabb would refuse to go to Oakland in a trade, not that it would be his choice because his contract does not contain a no-trade clause, but he could refuse to sign an extension with the Raiders if moved there.
